Peaceful March to regain Tamils Rights to Self-Determination in the heart of London on the 4th of February
We are writing on behalf of the Council Of Eelam Tamils (CET-UK) who serve as a platform for Eelam Tamils to exchange information and share their expertise and advice. Our common objective is to foster unity among the Tamil diaspora community, gradually influence decisions that impact them and work towards necessary socio-economic changes. We persist in collaborating with Tamil organisations, international entities, and humanitarian organisations operating globally, all sharing the common goals of homeland, nationalism, and self-determination, and assisting the international community in comprehending the history of the struggle for Tamileelam’s independence.
A march will be held in London on the 4th February to reaffirm the Tamil people’s right to self-determination, based on the principles of the Vaddukoddai Resolution. Thousands of Tamil activists around the globe will mobilise outside of the Sri Lankan High Commission London to demonstrate their solidarity and raise their voices in support of the Tamil in this march.
This march will begin at the Sri Lankan High Commission (No. 13, Hyde Park Gardens, London, W2 2LU) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., and will proceed towards No. 10, the official residence of the Prime Minister of the UK.
After the march, a letter will be sent to His Majesty King Charles III, the British Prime Minister, Hon. Keir Starmer, and other government officials, emphasising the profound responsibility to assist the Tamil people in reclaiming their right to self-determination.
This is part of the coordinated global campaign by the Tamil Youth Organisation, the International Diplomatic Council of Tamil Eelam, International Council of Eelam Tamils and the Tamils Coordinating Committee UK.
We hope for the active participation of the Tamil diaspora worldwide in this remarkable event. National liberation is our historical duty. Let us all come together in this march to realise this goal and fulfil our duty to the Tamil nation.
